Weir Arabian Metals Company (AMCO) is an engineering and general machining affiliate of The Olayan Group. Located in the Dammam Second Industrial City, AMCO was formed in 1977 primarily to serve the oil field industry in the eastern region of Saudi Arabia. Today, AMCO is a joint venture between Olayan and Weir Group PLC, based in the UK, with over 125 years experience in rotating equipment and APS (Advance Parts Solutions). The company holds seven American Petroleum Institute (API) licenses and is registered under APIQR.
The facility is well maintained for its services in product quality, personnel and product safety and the working envronment as the company operating and achieved international standards, namely ISO 9001 for Quality Management System, BS-OHSAS 18001 for Health and Safety and ISO 14001 for Environmental Management System.

The company is one of the largest facilities in Saudi Arabia for the repair and manufacture of oil field tubular equipment and tubular accessories. It employs the most experienced specialists in the manufacture and repair of oil drilling and production equipment.
Valve & Wellhead
Weir Arabian Metals Company was the first facility in the Middle East to earn API-certification in valve and wellhead manufacturing. AMCO offers high-quality valves, wellhead components and certified replacement parts at competitive prices.
Managed by expert engineers and equipped with the latest equipment, the company's machining division assures its demanding customers premium quality, reliability and cost-effectiveness. The division operates a wide variety of CNC machines for turning and grinding ball valves, backed by an extensive range of manual machines. It also offers comprehensive welding, fabrication, heat treatment and coating and overlay processes.
Weir Arabian Metals Company not only is capable of manufacturing small parts with a high degree of precision, but also can repair and fabricate components up to 15 tons.
The company has service contracts with Saudi Aramco, Aramco for Gulf Operations (Khafji) and several drilling support companies. These organizations rely on the availability of AMCO engineering and heavy machining services 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Weir Arabian Metals Company holds license agreements with several international companies for tubular repair. These include Vallourec, Hydril, Nippon Steel, Tenaris Grant Prideco, Baker Inteq, Hunting International and Shaffer.
In addition, the company is the approved facility for wellhead equipment repair for Cameron Saudi Arabia, FMC and Wood Group International. It is the only authorized repair facility in the Kingdom for Hydril, Shaffer, Denco and WOM equipment.
As part of its long-term strategy to achieve growth and diversification, the company has recently more than doubled its size and now operates two adjacent sites with a combined area of 35,000 square meters.
